Gypsum
Gypsum deposits, scattered in large and small patches, have been identified mainly in Bikaner, Hanumangarh, Sri Ganganagar, Nagaur, Jaisalmer, Jalore, and Barmer districts. These deposits occur along a particular lineament along the international border in the western part of Rajasthan. RSMML is involved in the mining of natural gypsum and currently holds 11 mining leases for the mineral gypsum. The present mine workings are mainly concentrated in the districts of Bikaner, Nagaur, Jalore, and Barmer.

Usage of Gypsum
Cement Production:
Acts as a retarder to control the setting time of cement during construction.
Drywall and Plaster:
The primary material in manufacturing Gypsum Boards (drywall) and Plaster of Paris (POP) for walls, ceilings, and decorative finishes.
Flooring:
Used in self-leveling floor screeds to provide a smooth finish.
Molding and Casting:
Employed for making molds, architectural decorations, and castings.
Agriculture Sector:
Under the land reclamation/development program which enhances soil structure by reducing compaction and improving water infiltration.
Supplies calcium and sulfur, essential nutrients for plant growth.
Fertilizer Component:
Added to fertilizers as a source of sulphur and calcium.
Glass Manufacturing:
Acts as a fluxing agent to improve glass quality.
Paper Industry:
Used in paperboard production to strengthen sheets.
Textile Industry:
Aids in dyeing and printing processes as a filler.
Solar Panels:
Investigated for potential use in enhancing the efficiency of photovoltaic panels.
